It’s true.. You are what you read, eat, hear and most of all believe.

We fill our minds with desires and then we chase them. Advertising does a wonderful job at brain washing us, society brainwashes us with odd expectations that are there simply to fuel the economy. Some of our deepest darkest desires are not our own, but they are engineered by someone else. Take for example 50 Shades of Gray, you might not have read it but it sure is affecting what men and women think is cool, and fulfilling. Once you fall in to such traps, like trying to be the player, or trying to impress as many women as possible, sleeping with as many as possible.. its hard to get out.

You might not get all of it, but your mind is in constant pursuit of something that you did not initially or naturally want yourself. Your ego has made you want to feel superior to people and you have subconsciously picked action X to prove to yourself that you aren’t average. Most times these are sinful actions.. but they fulfil you in some false sense with instant gratification.

We all suffer from some sickness of the heart. Some more dangerous than others. But this is the thing.. we kinda let that monster seep into our hearts and then take control over us. What we need to do is disconnect from the food that this monster feeds on. It’s made a nice cosy nest in us. We need to starve it and wait till it leaves. It will not go overnight. If you have some wild expectation that it’s going to fly away like a bird then you’re dead wrong.

These things also aren’t single issues, they are a whole basket of related habits (monsters) that you need to tackle. And oh you’d also be lost in limbo, unable to decide whether you wan to quit it or not. Ha! Thanks for that brain. But once you do decide.. you have to disconnect completely and detox. Yes there will be temptations, withdrawal effects, etc. Fight through the discomfort.. how? Love it. Know that it means you’re going through change. The discomfort, the distracted mind, the mild depression.. this is exactly what you’re supposed to feel before you get better. You filled it with filth, now pay the price. Yep, pay the price for stupidity.

Pay up sooner, or you’ll end up paying more.
